LONDON – Textron Aviation ventures into the defense market. On the 20th of July 2022, Kansas-based aircraft manufacturer Textron Aviation unveiled a Maritime Patrol Aircraft. The new Maritime Patrol Aircraft will be based on the Cessna Citation Longitude Aircraft.

“The new Citation longitude maritime patrol aircraft or MPA can fly with a maximum range of 3,500 nautical miles.”
“The heavily modified Citation Longitude will have a transmissive belly radome for maritime radars, Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) fairing, Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor lift, and optional Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatible lighting.”
“All of these bells and whistles, make the aircraft ideally tailored for surveillance missions over water and land, undergoing search and rescue, border patrol, fishery monitoring, and much more.”
