LONDON – Spanish flag carrier Iberia will add services to Ammam, Jordan to its route network from November.
The outings have been adapted to the new programs launched by the tour operator SamaTravel, which offers the possibility of getting to know such iconic places as Petra and the Egyptian pyramids on the same trip.
This effectively combines two very attractive countries for Spanish tourists. The departures will be made weekly, every Thursday, from Madrid.
Iberia statement
Speaking on the proposed route inauguration, Antonio Linares, Director of Sales Spain of Iberia, assured that “we are very happy to be able to announce the extension of our agreement with SamaTravel.”
“It is the first time in our history that we will fly to Jordan, which will become our 138th destination. In addition, the combination of flights with Cairo will allow us to visit two wonders of the world, ancient and modern, in the same trip, with a single package. A differential product, of great quality, which we believe will be very well received by customers”.
According to Mohamed Ali, General Director of SamaTravel,“The extension of our agreement with Iberia comes not only to strengthen our excellent business relationship, but also to give the sector the opportunity to launch a product with enormous potential.”
“We want to turn Jordan into another of our star destinations, and to be able to combine it with Egypt, fulfilling two dreams in a single trip, is undoubtedly an important attraction for travellers and a new sales opportunity for agencies, who will find various options adjusted to all audiences to get to know the Jordanian country.”
Treasures of the World
SamaTravel has already launched several programs encompassed in a new line of products called “Treasures of the World.”
Travel itineraries range from six-day express trips to 12-night tours that combine Petra, the Wadi Rum desert, the Dead Sea or the beaches of Aqaba), with Nile cruises touring Egypt and its heritage.
There are also combined program options with the Holy Land, as well as itineraries focused solely on Jordan, to get to know the Hashemite Kingdom in depth.
Jordan statement of welcome
For its part, the Jordanian country has been very satisfied with this new operation, which will foreseeably mean a notable increase in the number of Spanish travelers who visit it.
Jordan has promised to publicize this initiative through its Embassy, which it pronounced as follows: “The Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Madrid flatters Iberia’s initiative together with the tour operator SamaTravel and its General Director, Mr. Mohamed Ali.”
“To operate charter flights to Jordan, which will give the opportunity to thousands of people to visit its most beautiful places, such as Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea and Aqaba. We are extremely happy about the project and wish both companies every success.”
