LONDON – Ryanair has today announced it handled seven million passengers in January 2022 as part of its monthly traffic statistics.
The seven million figure is exponentially better than the same period in 2021, where only 1.3 million passengers were handled.
Demand has increased as well, with the load factor increasing by 10% to 79% overall across 46,400 flights.
Below is a table of the previous six months to determine such comparisons compared to now:
PREVIOUS MONTHS | GUESTS | LOAD FACTOR |
July | 9.3m | 80% |
August | 11.1m | 82% |
September | 10.6m | 81% |
October | 11.3m | 84% |
November | 10.2m | 86% |
December | 9.5m | 81% |
The carrier has been affected by Omicron travel restrictions this month and last month also, which has hampered the opportunity to grow further.
Ryanair has aimed to combat this by offering significantly discounted flights to kick-start such demand once again ahead of the Summer 2022 season.
