Oman Air Expands Further Into India, Wins Award at APEX

LONDON – Oman Air is making a great leap forwards by expanding its footprint into India, arguably one of its largest markets, and at the same time, received an award for Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East.

Expansion to India 


Oman Air, the official flag carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has tweaked its summer schedule to reflect the growing demand between India and the Middle East.

This means that we will see more flights being flown and re-flown to India with Oman Air. After a two-year hiatus, the airline is ready to once again, venture into the Indian market, a very lucrative market for Middle Eastern carriers.

The Omani flag carrier will boost its frequencies to 8 Indian cities, and these include Bangalore, Mumbai, Kozhikode, Kochi, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, and Chennai as demand increases.

All of these flights will be flown from Oman’s Air main base at Muscat Seeb International Airport.

Oman Air will operate all of its fleet types to India, ranging from its long-haul award-winning 787 Dreamliner Aircraft, Airbus A330 and also the 737 for feeder flights, and to secondary cities in India.

Oman Air steals the show at APEX 2022. Wins Passenger Choice Award for Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East

No surprise, Oman air has been given the trophy at 2022 Passenger Choice Award® for Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). The airline stole the limelight in Dublin on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

He added that “We’re ecstatic and honoured that the flying public has backed our continued efforts to provide exceptional service.”

“This award reaffirms our dedication to onboard comfort and providing award-winning service to our passengers on every flight, and it is a testament to the high quality of care and professionalism we strive to provide at Oman Air.”

The event organiser APEX worked with TripIt from Concur, which is the world’s highest-rated travel organizing app.

They have the responsibility to collate passenger feedbacks which is done anonymously to prevent bias and give passengers comfort in making bold decisions.

Leading up to the 2022 APEX ceremony, there were nearly 1 million flights which were rated by anonymous passengers, on more than 600 carriers globally, using a scale from 1 to 5 stars which appear on the screen.

The rating is divided into 5 sub-sections these are Seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
