LONDON – Malaysia Airlines announced on the 27th of June 2022, that the airline’s products of MHflypass Malaysia and MHshuttle have now been overarched and can be used for Firefly’s selected domestic routes.

The famed MHflypass is mainly used for its mainline Malaysian airlines for its ‘buffet’ promotional flights. This pass is now compatible with its regional airline, Firefly. Firefly is an airline operating ATRs out of Kuala Lumpur executive airport, Subang Airport.

MHshutle on the other will be beneficial for passengers flying frequently between Singapore and Malaysia.

In fact, it will be the only flight flying from Subang Airport to an international destination that is scheduled, and that is to Singapore’s Seletar Airport, and also the traditional route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Changi International Airport with Malaysia Airlines.

Recently, flights between the two executives or secondary airports flown by Firefly airlines resumed their twice-daily flights after their suspension since 2020 due to the pandemic.

Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Malaysia Airlines Berhad, Lau Yin May said:

“The expansion of MHflypass to MH-Firefly codeshare flights like Firefly is very timely, accommodating the surge in passengers demands and benefits all customers with flexible, convenient, and economical travel.”

“We hope that frequent travelers who wish to make up for two years of lost travel opportunities can book with confidence and secure their seats for flights even during peak season.”

“As for MHshuttle, the extension of the offerings to Firefly flights between the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, and adding new departure and arrival points are in response to the rapidly increasing demand for enhanced flexibility and offers a fuss-free travel experience for all guests.”

“The offerings of our “value for flights” products reflect our efforts to provide the distinctive Malaysian Hospitality experience to all of our customers through exceptional service and offerings without comprising the highest safety and health standards for our passengers to #FlyConfidently with us.”

MHflypass members will be able to enjoy one of the best privileges that Malaysia Airlines could ever offer.

Guests holding this pass card are allowed to be as flexible as they wish to do so, including unlimited free date change, which allows them to change their schedules at their leisure. This is very handy for business people.

This move allows both airlines to enjoy a closer working relationship, and the ability for passengers to shift between these two liners flexibly and trouble-free.

MHshuttle on the other hand, is more geared towards business frequent fliers, flying between Malaysia and Singapore. Passengers have their utmost flexibility in free flight date changes, free seat selection, and complimentary onboard meals.

The airline itself, both Malaysia Airlines and Fireflies wish this closer integration will enable an increase in customer loyalty and provide extra comfort for travelers.
