LOT launches flights to Sarajevo

WARSAW – LOT Polish Airlines launched on May 30 another new connection from Warsaw. Onboard the national carrier’s aircraft we can now fly to Sarajevo.

The connection is of particular business and tourism value, as countries in the Balkans are important partners of Poland for years.

The summer flight network of LOT Polish Airlines includes many new destinations, including now the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first Embraer E-Jet to Sarajevo takes on Monday, May 30 at 14.40. The flight from Chopin Airport to Sarajevo International Airport takes around 2 hours.

Polish carrier will fly to the capital of B&H five times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays on a schedule (local times):

  • LO579 WAW 1440 – 1630 SJJ E170/E175 (1–4—)
    LO580 SJJ 1710 – 1955 WAW E170/E175 (1–4—)
  • LO577 WAW 1035 – 1225 SJJ E170/E175 (-2–56-)
    LO578 SJJ 1305 – 1500 WAW E170/E175 (-2–56-)

Flights are operated by Embraer E170 and E175.

Growing Polish activity in the Balkans


The launch of direct flights between Warsaw and Sarajevo is further confirmation of the growing activity of Poland in the Western Balkans. I hope that this will not only make it easier for Polish pilgrims to travel to Medjugorie. But will also serve as a catalyst for even more vibrant economic, political and cultural cooperation between Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina

They can see its monuments, as well as enjoy its relaxed atmosphere and magical Balkan cuisine. Also Warsaw is a city full of monuments and culinary specialties. Strengthening economic ties


Alan Bajic, Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, points out that direct flights between Sarajevo and Warsaw are of great importance for the development of tourism and the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It’s also strengthening the economic ties between our countries.

Flights on this route will increase services on offer, but also due to the fact that LOT Polish Airlines will offer our passengers the opportunity to transfer to many other destinations via its hub in Warsaw.

Flights to Warsaw are the result of intensive cooperation between the Sarajevo Airport and domestic tourist industry in Bosnia. t is a priority to intensify connections to the capital. Sarajevo Airport is not only the gateway to the most visited city in the country, but also to the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Increase in the number of airlines and passengers will be a strong economic boost for the entire country
