LONDON – Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, has announced its flight schedule for the summer 2023 season. The scheduling will see more services added to the airline’s key regional routes, in line with growing demand from leisure and business travellers.
Loganair’s summer 2023 schedule will see additional flights from Edinburgh to Southampton and Exeter and Bergen, Norway, as well as an extra daily service between Glasgow and Southampton.
The summer scheduling is to commence from 19 June 2023, will ticketing now available.
To meet rising demand, Loganair is adding a fifth daily flight on both its Edinburgh and Glasgow services to and from Southampton, increasing interconnectivity for businesses across the UK and offering more flexibility for leisure travellers.
Flights are timed to plug a gap in the schedule, allowing customers to arrive in the Scottish capital early while a new evening flight has been added for a later departure to and from Glasgow.
The airline will also operate a double daily service between Edinburgh and Exeter, up from 6 flights per week.
Loganair’s international services between Scotland’s capital and the capital of Fjord Norway are also set to increase next year with four flights per week featuring in the summer 2023 schedule.
The airline recommenced flights from Edinburgh to Bergen and Stavanger earlier this year following initial popularity in 2019, and due to significant interest in the route for both business and leisure passengers, additional flight options will be available for summer 2023.
Loganair management statement
Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said:
“Loganair has experienced its busiest summer ever this year, carrying a record number of customers across the UK and Europe and we expect Summer 2023 to be no different.
We take great pride in facilitating growth in interconnectivity across the UK and by increasing our frequency on some of our key routes, we can better serve our customers.”
Kate Sherry, aviation director at Edinburgh Airport, said:
“Loganair expanding its operation at Edinburgh Airport is more positive news for both leisure and business passengers. As a facilitator industry we know how important it is to make and grow connections with cities and countries, and we’ll work with airline partners to do so where we see the demand.”
Stephen Wiltshire, Managing Director of Exeter Airport, said:
“Edinburgh is a popular route from Exeter and this is great news for passengers. Loganair’s increased frequency means double daily flights on weekdays, which will appeal to business travellers in particular, giving them a full day in Edinburgh.”
“And combined with the daily weekend service, that means even more choice for leisure passengers too.”
On behalf of Glasgow Airport, Christopher Tibbet, Group Head of Airline Relations and Marketing, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to see Loganair further grow options from Glasgow Airport to Southampton next summer, connecting families, enabling business and making it easier for Glaswegians to explore the vibrant south coast of England; whether sailing the Solent, walking with New Forest ponies or unleashing the inner foodie in Southampton.”
On behalf of Southampton Airport, Christopher Tibbet, Group Head of Airline Relations and Marketing, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to see Loganair further grow options from Southampton Airport to Glasgow and Edinburgh next summer, connecting families, enabling business and making it easier to explore Scotland; whether teeing off in St Andrews, wild swimming in Loch Lomond or whiskey sampling in Glasgow’s West End.”
