LONDON – AviationSource is live on the ground at Lisbon Airport as mass delays are causing chaos at the airport. Writer Joris Wendt is on the ground there.
Joris was due to fly out of Lisbon at 1650 local time yesterday to Madeira. The flight initially had a one-hour delay, and he sat in the aircraft for another hour before being deplaned.
He was then told departure time was moved to 2100 local time before the flight was canceled and rebooked for Monday, and was sent to his hotel without his bags or any further information at 2300 local time.
However, after discussions with staff, he is on a standby list to depart Lisbon at 1325 local time today, with no guarantees he will be departing.
Joris has documented his experience via video and photo, with there being significant queues across most of the check-in desks, as well as the departure board which shows massive delays.

This is a developing story. Updates to follow soon!
