LONDON – Since the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning against visiting Ukraine as a result of a possible invasion, the Israeli airline Arkia announced rescue flights from Ukraine for Israeli citizens.
The flights will take place on the 14th and 15th of February from Kyiv and Odessa with the option of additional flights.
El Al and Israir announced that they´ll also operate flights from Kyiv on both days.
Tensions have risen substantially in the last few days in the region, with the Russians not backing down at this stage.
As mentioned in a previous analysis on AviationSource, such rescue flights may be the start of a chain of other carriers potentially following suit in order to get its nationals out of the country and back home.
Those wanting to get out of the country may have to use international carriers to do so, especially with the news today of SkyUp Airlines having to stop sales of tickets following insurance and lessor withdrawals.
