Strong Expansion in the Middle East & Beyond…

As IndiGo embarks on the new journey of its network expansion in markets beyond the Middle East, it can be regarded as one of the bold moves by the carrier to choose its strategic codeshare with the Turkish Airline.

After conquering the majority of the Middle East with flights plying between major Indian hubs to Middle Eastern destinations, IndiGo has not left a stone unturned to capture market share beyond its domestic travelers.

As of date, IndiGo offers more than 15 international connections out of Mumbai International Airport, the majority of which are focused on Middle Eastern traffic.

IndiGo has made its debut in the international markets in 2011 when it was granted a license to operate international flights beyond Indian borders.

The carrier has since then made promising decisions and achieved milestones with its remarkable ‘Look Middle East’ strategy connecting the majority of Indian Hubs like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad along with Tier 1 cities with major emphasis on ex-pat and working-class pax market in the southern region of India.

Under the current leadership of Pieter Elbers, IndiGo has embarked on new strategic maneuvers to scale more new routes with frequency updating in the domestic as well as international markets.

With a leading fleet size of more than 250 aircraft, IndiGo has been regarded as the first Indian airline to achieve this notable milestone.

Speaking on this occasion, the Head of Global Sales for IndiGo, Mr. Vinay Malhotra, said, “In line with our vision to strengthen international connectivity from India, we have launched a new connection between Mumbai and Istanbul. This will enhance international capacity and offer more options to the consumers.”
