Hans Airways Signs Deal with Moment for IFE

LONDON – Hans Airways has signed a deal with French digital company Moment to supply the carrier with a portable in-flight entertainment system.

Moment’s product, Flymingo, will be fitted onboard Hans’ first Airbus A330-200 aircraft before the company launches revenue operations, which is expected to be soon.

Commenting on the deal was Martin Dunn, Hans Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer:

“Flymingo Box technology will enable passengers to access intuitively and immediately a range of digital services during their journey. We will also promote our loyalty program, FlyHAPEEI, on the passenger portal.”

Also commenting on the deal was Dieudonine Kamate, the Business Development Director at Moment:

“We are excited to contribute to the creation of the passenger experience aboard Hans Airways’ aircraft”.

“Flymingo Box is a cost-effective solution that adapts perfectly to all airlines, regardless of fleet size, and which easily brings digital services on board.”

“As a leading inflight entertainment solution, we are sensitive to our customer’s needs, striving to help them build an unforgettable and differentiating experience with unmatched performance.”

Through the portable W-IFE solution Flymingo Box, Hans Airways’ passengers will be able to connect with a variety of premium content, including films, TV shows, infotainment, or games streamed directly from passengers’ own devices.

Flymingo presents a compact and powerful server. As an autonomous solution, Flymingo Box adapts to non-connected environments and does not require any additional connectivity, operating with its own Wi-Fi network.

Hans Airways, headed by Chairman and CEO Satnam Saini, is focusing on the passenger experience, including onboard catering and entertainment. The company evaluated several providers to identify the best solution for its needs before determining Moment.

Hans Airways is progressing with its plans to commence scheduled services later this year. Its aircraft feature a cabin layout of 275 economy and 24 premium economy seats.

Not Far Away from Commercial Operations…

Last month, Hans Airways confirmed that it concluded its formal route-proving flight for the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) from Birmingham airport last Wednesday, 31 August.

The proving flight was conducted by its newly re-registered Airbus A330-200 aircraft G-KJAS.

Two sets of flight and cabin crew, led by COO Captain Nathan Burkitt and Neeru Prabhakar, Manager – of Cabin Safety and Service, operated the flight, which ran to a flight time of just over two hours.

Simon Prower, Hans Airways Director of Ground Operations, focused on dispatch and logistics, with ground handling managed by Swissport.

The flight operated with over 100 guests on board, flying along the west coast towards the North Atlantic and back to Birmingham Airport.

On 30 August, the day prior to the formal proving flight, CEO and founder of Hans Airways, Satnam Saini, proudly welcomed 55 guests made up of family, friends, and airline partners for a familiarisation test flight replicating a full-service offering.

Overall, Hans Airways does appear to be getting everything together ahead of the launch of its commercial operations very soon. All eyes will now be on the carrier to subsequently launch and see how they perform.
