LONDON – On the 5th of November 2022, the Atlanta-based business jet manufacturer, Gulfstream Aerospace Cooperation announced that an all-new Gulfstream G700 is having its introduction in Asia. Vietnam marks the first of its greater Asia-Pacific and worldwide trip. The manufacturer itself is banking high on its latest product in booming Asia.

The G700 is a capable aircraft packed with the latest technology to satisfy its clients. The Gulfstream G700 will inevitably join the ranks of its already existing lineup of the G600 and the G650ER which Gulfstream is banking high for its Asian sales.

Vietnamese customers got the chance to experience the G700, alongside the G600 and the G650ER at an invitation-only event at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province, hosted by Sun Air LLC. Sun Air LLC is a newly launched business jet operator, primarily using Gulfstream aircraft, hence the event.

The company is based in the country’s capital of Hanoi and is an approved authorised international sales and representative for the company in the South East Asian country.

The G700 also set hit a new city-pair speed record, travelling from Istanbul to Van Don International airport, with a distance of 4,573 nautical miles/8,469 kilometres in only  9 hours and 2 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90 (90% of the speed of sound).

Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream is very upbeat about the Asian market, especially the South East Asian market. He stated:  “We are honoured to bring the G700 and G600 to Van Don airport and join with our international sales representative Sun Air and their G650ER to showcase the industry-leading performance and technology we offer. ”

He added “Vietnam and Southeast Asia are strong developing markets for Gulfstream. As we see continued demand and fleet growth in the region, we are also bolstering resources to support customers there, including field service coverage from Gulfstream Customer Support and the Gulfstream FAST Field and Airborne Support Teams.”

The growing middle class and the elites in the region allow Gulfstream and other OEMs to venture into the much-needed luxury high-end market, which needs to be filled in places like Vietnam and Indonesia. This is why Asia, is the continent for many OEMs to focus on.

Gulfstream Customer Support has increased its footprint and enhanced its services in the South East Asian country with its Southeast Asia-based field representative from Singapore, and Gulfstream’s FAST dedicated to Vietnam’s rapid need in business aviation.

Will the Gulfstream G800 receive its much-needed attention? Will the G800 become a perfect complement to the rest of the Gulfstream fleet along with the G700? Time will tell.
