LONDON – Etihad Airways has announced it will restart services to Johannesburg from March 3, 2022.
This move comes following the UAE’s decision to resume entry of passengers from the following countries:
- Kenya
- Tanzania
- Ethiopia
- Nigeria
- Kongo
- South Africa
- Botswana
- Eswatini
- Lesotho
- Mozambique
- Namibia
- Zimbabwe
Competitor Emirates has already restarted flights to and from Johannesburg on a once-daily basis.
From today, the carrier will go double daily out of the area as well as resuming flights to Cape Town and Durban respectively.
Whilst such services have resumed, there are still restrictions for entry into the UAE regarding testing.
Passengers arriving from Johannesburg will be required to present a negative PCR test within 48 hours of their departure as well as a rapid PCR test obtained within six hours of their departure from the airport.
