BERLIN – Dubai-based carrier Emirates expands its Gatwick service to double-daily, operating both, the Boeing 777 and the A380, to the airport just outside of London.
This takes Emirate’s total weekly flights to the UK to 91.
According to Richard Jewsbury, Divisional Vice President for Emirates UK, the carrier has seen a considerable uptick in demand for international travel in recent weeks.
“Particularly from the South East and are pleased to be expanding our operations from Gatwick. Emirates is fully committed to the UK and we have operated flights from the airport for over 30 years, providing vital connectivity to Dubai and across our international network for passengers traveling for business, leisure or to visit loved ones.”
“The route has also carried billions of pounds worth of cargo into and out of the region – supporting UK businesses of all shapes and sizes.”
The VP of Aviation Development Gatwick Airport, Stephanie Wear commented “We were delighted in December with Emirates’ return to Gatwick and this expansion of the service is testament to the success of operations here.”

The carrier currently operates all across the UK, with 6 daily A380 flights to Heathrow, double daily A380 service to Manchester, 10 weekly services to Birmingham, daily Glasgow service, four-weekly service to Newcastle, and double daily Service to Gatwick.
