LONDON – Indian tourists top arrivals in Thailand, and the airline thus took advantage of this phenomenon. On 9 July, Vistara Airlines announced that it would launch an additional new route that will be added to its international network with direct flights from Mumbai to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The new flight to one of the world’s most exciting cities will be on 5 August, with five weekly flights to the Thai capital. Vistara Airlines will utilise its latest narrowbody aircraft the Airbus A320NEO aircraft. The aircraft features a three-cabin configuration, with Economy Class, Premium Economy and Business Class for the route.
This announcement comes after the airline also increase its frequency between Delhi and Bangkok to daily flights, citing how important the Thai market is important for the airline.
The airline’s top boss Mr Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, stated:
“Thailand remains one of the most preferred tourist destinations for Indians and we are excited to commence flights between Mumbai and Bangkok, in addition to the existing daily connectivity to the city from Delhi.”
“There is huge potential for a full-service carrier like Vistara on this route, and we are confident that travellers will thoroughly appreciate our world-class product and services along with easy and direct access to their favourite destination.”
Thailand’s economy has been hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, whereby the nation’s economy is heavily reliant on tourists (though this is set to change with its ambitious structural reform).
