LONDON – On Sunday 31st, Bolloré Logistics made an impressive milestone for Latin America by bringing in the first-ever Airbus A300-600ST Super Transporter (Beluga). This historical moment was made when the company transported a Helibras-owned Airbus ACH160 helicopter from France to Brazil – the largest country in South America.
Brazilian operator Helibras, contracted Bolloré Logistics to ship their latest ACH160 helicopter from the city of Marseille, France to Viracopos – Campinas International Airport (VCP) in São Paulo, for final assembly.
The helicopter was successfully assembled in Sao Paulo at Azul Linhas Aéreas’ MRO facility where the Beluga was stationed for a couple of days before flying back to Europe. It will be based here for a few days before returning to Europe.
Members of Bolloré Logistics in both countries in France and Brazil provided solutions and end-to-end services for the project of loading and unloading the ACH160 helicopter on the Beluga.
Moreover, Bolloré also provides services such as liaising with relevant authorities, including providing export and import customs formalities, which are synonymous with being tedious and time-consuming. in addition, the company also assists in the assembling of helicopters within the given time frame.
Bolloré Logistics, being a French company, is a global pioneer and an expert in helicopter and aviation logistics. The company has a collective experience built over more than 5 decades, with projects and contracts worldwide. The latest round of projects of bringing the helicopter to Helibras with the Beluga gives Bollore Logistics a unique partner and an upper hand in having them as a partner.
Gustavo Santi, Managing Director for Bolloré Logistics Brazil, stated:
“The challenge implied great experience and knowledge of the components, their handling and care during transportation, due to the large dimensions and weight of the equipment, but it was certainly achieved successfully with the collaboration of experts in the field.”
“We thank Helibras for giving us the opportunity to be part of this great journey that has made history in aerospace logistics.”
