LONDON – Footage has emerged of a Boeing 747 Dreamlifter’s wheel falling off its main landing gear in Taranto, Italy, earlier today.

The aircraft in question was N718BA, with the 747 Dreamlifter operating a flight under Atlas Air flight number of 5Y4231. The aircraft was bound for Charleston, North Carolina.
N718BA was in Taranto for the transportation of components for the 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

At the time of writing (1702 UK time), the aircraft is still in the air and is continuing on to Charleston. The flight is around two hours from landing at the airport.
