LONDON – Bangkok Airways, Asia’s boutique airline is storming ahead with new route openings as travel recovery gains full steam.
International Flights…
The airline resumed one of its most popular routes to Male, Maldives. The first flight after 2 years began on 13th June 2022. The airline will fly to Male four times a week Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
The flight from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Male International Airport is PG711, and will depart in the busy morning hours at 09:20 AM and will arrive at Male Airport at 11:45 AM.
The return flight will bear flight number PG712 and will arrive in the Thai capital of Bangkok at 19:30 hours.
The airline will also introduce new services to Cambodia, with Siem Reap (Cambodia) will be the latest destination in Cambodia, after Phnom Peng. The airline will fly one daily flight.
Da Nang will also be added to the list of destinations flown by Bangkok Airways, also with one daily flight.
Moreover, from its Samui Airport base, the airline will re-introduce four weekly flights to and From Hongkong on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Note that nearly all international routes performed by Bangkok Airways are aimed at the premium, upmarket tourism sector, notably to Male, and Siem Reap, which are popular for Thai tourists.
Domestic Routes
The Thai domestic market is also gaining momentum from the increase in traffic from the post-pandemic recovery.
The airline announced two new route pairings. This is from, Bangkok to the largest city in southern Thailand Hatyai, and Hatyai to Samui, the airline’s secondary base. These two route pairings will begin on the 16th of July.
For the Bangkok – Hatyai service, the airline will utilize its A319, with the outbound flight bearing the flight number PG431, which will depart from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08.25 am and is expected to arrive at Hat Yai Airport at 09.55 am.
On the return flight, the flight will perform as flight PG432 leaving Hat Yai Airport at 10.45 am. and arriving back at base at 12.15 PM.
The second daily flight, will be PG433, departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 13.00 PM. and arrives at Hat Yai Airport at 14.30 PM.
The return flight will be PG434, departing Hat Yai Airport at 15.20 PM and arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 16.50 PM.
The Samui-Hat Yai shuttle will fly thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, utilizing the smallest aircraft in the fleet, ATR72-600 aircraft.
The flight will carry PG411 and will take off from Samui Airport at 10:30 am and will arrive at Hat Yai Airport at 11:40.
The return flight to Samui will carry flight number PG412 from Hatyai AIrports at 12:10 AM and will arrive at Samui Airport at 13:20PM.
