Bluebird Nordic
The aircraft has joined the fleet of Bluebird Nordic, a rapidly growing Iceland-based cargo airline, which offers aircrew maintenance and insurance (ACMI) wet leasing and full-service cargo services.
Bluebird Nordic, formerly Bluebird Cargo, is a cargo airline based in Reykjavík, Iceland, operating scheduled and chartered cargo services to and from Iceland and within Europe out of its base at Keflavík International Airport, with a special focus on Liège Airport & East Midlands Airport as freight hub.
The operation was originally established in 1999 and formally commenced operations in March 2001.
Operations commenced with daily freighter services between Iceland, United Kingdom and Germany with a single Boeing 737-300F freighter aircraft.
Bluebird Nordic provides import and export air freight services worldwide. The operator now provides a set of weekday direct flights between Iceland and Billund and onwards to Cologne.
They work in close cooperation with Aer Lingus Cargo, Emirates Sky Cargo, UPS Air Cargo and other cargo carriers.
Avia Solutions Group
The continued cooperation between both companies – which are a part of Avia Solutions Group, a leading global end-to-end capacity provider – is assisting the Bluebird Nordic in continuously reaching the step-by-step fleet expansion goals.
The recently delivered Boeing 737-800 underwent the Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversion works provided by Boeing at Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (STAECO) facility in Jinan (TNA), China.
