ALC Announces Placement of Nine Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft with Corendon Airlines

LONDON – Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has today announced the placement of nine Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with Corendon Airlines in Turkey.

Five 737 MAX 8 aircraft will be delivered to the carrier in the Spring, with the other MAX 8 slated for a 2023 delivery.

The three remaining aircraft will be of the MAX 9, which will be delivered to the carrier in the first half of next year.

Commenting on this news was Steven Udvar-Hazy, the Executive Chairman of ALC:

“ALC is a major lessor to the Corendon Airlines Group with three operating airlines in the Netherlands, Malta, and Turkey, and we are pleased to announce these lease placements today”.

“These nine new Boeing 737 aircraft offer the most modern, fuel-efficient new technology that will greatly enhance Corendon’s overall fleet operations and passenger experience.”

Also commenting on the news was Yildiray Karaer, Chairman of the Corendon Group:

“We appreciate and thank ALC for the long-time cooperation and fleet support”.

In recent weeks, lessors such as ALC and CDB Aviation have been announcing where their order book is actually headed.

We have seen an uptick in aircraft orders from leasing companies in recent months due to the financial constraints of the pandemic continuing to hit the sector, meaning more business for lessors.
