LONDON – Air Transat has resumed its connection between Toronto and Faro.
The service started on 18 January 2022 and runs until 25 October 2022.
According to Cirium’s network data, the route is operated once a week with the Airbus A321LR featuring 199 seats, 12 business, and 187 economy class.
The flight TS 232 to Faro departs from Toronto on Tuesday at 21:05 and arrives in Faro at 9:05 on Wednesday.
The journey takes 7 hours. The outbound TS 233 leaves Faro on Wednesday at 10:50 and lands in Toronto at 14:10. Flight time is 8h:50.
The route expands connectivity in the region, as Air Transat has regular operations to several airports in Canada, including Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal.
“With this important launch by Air Transat, placing the Algarve in its route portfolio as a summer destination, new opportunities for the development of tourism in the region open up,” said Francisco Pita, Chief Commercial Officer of ANA Aeroportos de Portugal.
“It will be a valuable diversification of supply on the summer routes to Faro Airport and we are very optimistic about the success of this operation.”
The airline has been operating regularly to Faro Airport but until now only winter seasonal flights.
The resumption of the connection comes after a joint effort between the airline, ANA – VINCI Airports, and the regional and national tourism entities, counting on twenty more movements in the winter and 64 more movements in the summer.
Joseph Adamo, Chief Sales, and Marketing Officer, Air Transat, added: “Now offered year-round, this route allows Canadian travelers to explore the magnificent region of the Algarve, while also offering more travelers from Portugal the chance to discover the Great White North.”
