LONDON – Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus recently re-launched its first flight from Dublin to Seattle on 7 July. This is considered a major milestone, as this is the latest route to be re-launched since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

As of 7 July, travellers can now fly easily from Seattle to Dublin Airport, with five weekly flights. Seattle is one of the most sought routes in the transatlantic route apart from Los Angeles and San Francisco, which both were re-flown earlier this year. One could comfortably say that Aer Lingus has completely restored West Coast services to the United States.

Aer Lingus will better serve their European passengers, to the sunny destinations of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Apart from launching the service to Seattle, Aer Lingus has also restarted transatlantic flights from Shannon, Ireland’s second-largest city to New York and Boston.

Seattle is one of the U.S. west coast’s most liberal cities and is home to many Fortune 500 corporations, such as Starbucks, Microsoft, Boeing and Amazon. Seattle houses one of the most vibrant companies in the USA, which also have strong ties to Ireland.

This means that the route will generate lots of business travellers between Dublin and Seattle. Not only these destinations will attract business travellers, but also tourism traffic. This includes the Space Needle, the beautiful Olympus Mountain sights, and the Pike Place Markets. This is great for foodies and outdoor goers.

Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer Aer Lingus, commented, “We are delighted to announce the Seattle route restart after a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“Seattle has so much to offer both business and leisure travellers and we look forward to welcoming customers on board the route again. Aer Lingus is the only carrier connecting customers to the West Coast of the USA with daily flights, reaffirming our commitment to building our transatlantic connections.”

Apart from Seattle and the West Coast, the Irish flag carrier flies 14 direct routes between Ireland and North America, including flights to popular destinations such as New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., Boston, Orlando, Philadelphia, Toronto, Miami and now Seattle.

The airline continues to innovate further and will never let its customers down. To make passengers’ experience even better Aer Lingus has partnered with VeriFLY. Customers may install the VeriFly app and upload all COVID-19 documents which are required for their final destinations.

The Irish flag carrier will do all its best to ensure all passengers and documentation are ready for flight. The airline announced that one-way fares will be €329 including taxes and charges. Aer Lingus will fly its flagship aircraft, the Airbus A330 to Seattle.
