LONDON – Airbus has announced CMA CGM Group has firmed an order for four A350F aircraft. There is currently no word on when the aircraft are due for delivery.
It follows the MoU previously signed by CMA CGM group for the aircraft. The order will boost CMA CGM’s Airbus fleet to nine aircraft. Currently, theirfleet comprises of four A330-200F and A330-200 which will be converted to a freighter.
The A350F has a 30 tonne lighter take-off weight, causing at least 20% less fuel burn compared to it’s closest competitor. The aircraft can take 109 tonnes of payload, and serves all cargo markets. It currently is the only new generation freight aircraft ready for enhanced CO2 emissions standards in 2027 from ICAO.
