Malaysia Airlines has bolstered its global presence with new aircraft and network developments. The airline unveiled a striking co-branded aircraft livery with Manchester United football club.

At the same time, the carrier announced that it is resuming flights to Brisbane, Australia and introducing premium cabin features on its Boeing 737-10 aircraft fleet.

Partnership with Manchester United

Malaysia Airlines has partnered with Manchester United to launch a unique co-branded livery on its flagship A330-300 aircraft. The design merges the vibrant red of Malaysia’s flag with the iconic red of Manchester United. This collaboration celebrates the harmony between aviation and sports, two industries that inspire millions worldwide.

The livery unveiling was a star-studded event, featuring Manchester United legends Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidić, and Luís Nani.

Fans can meet these football icons at public sessions from April 18 to April 20, 2025, at the MAG Arena in Malaysia. This exciting opportunity allows supporters to connect with their heroes, adding a memorable touch to the partnership.

Reconnecting with Brisbane

Starting November 29, 2025, Malaysia Airlines will resume direct flights to Brisbane, Queensland, reinforcing its commitment to the Australian market.

The airline is also increasing flight frequencies to Sydney and Melbourne, catering to both leisure and business travelers. These routes will feature the new A330neo aircraft, offering superior comfort, fuel efficiency, and modern cabin amenities.

Australia is a vital market for Malaysia Airlines, with growing demand for travel in both directions. The expanded services provide more flexibility and seamless connections for passengers across the Asia-Pacific region.

Further afield, Malaysia Airlines is increasing flights to cities like Auckland, Surabaya, Phuket, and Trivandrum. These additions strengthen the airline’s network, meeting the rising demand for regional travel.

Lie-Flat Business Class

Malaysia Airlines is elevating the regional travel experience with the introduction of lie-flat Business Class seats on its Boeing 737-10 aircraft—a first for its narrowbody fleet.

This innovation ensures consistent comfort across short- and long-haul flights. For example, passengers traveling from Trivandrum to Kuala Lumpur on the 737-10 can connect to Melbourne on the A330neo, enjoying a premium cabin experience throughout their journey.

By 2030, the airline plans to operate 55 Boeing 737-8 and 737-10 aircraft, supporting its fleet modernization goals.

These advancements position Malaysia Airlines as a leader in passenger comfort and align with its ambition to rank among the top 10 global and top 5 Asian airlines.
