A Malaysia Airlines flight operating between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok has declared an emergency.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH780 declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst en route.

Having declared an emergency whilst outbound over the Malaysian peninsula, flight MH780 has made a course adjustment and appears to be making good a return to Kuala Lumpur (KUL).
The flight has now left cruising altitude on descent for its return to the origin airport.
The nature of the emergency prompting the return is not yet known.

Flight MH780 is now on a reciprocal course and established in a descent for its return to KUL. Passing Kedah, the flight is now descending towards 10,000 feet.
The aircraft is maintaining the priority squawk code 7700.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH780 is now maintaining the reduced altitude of 10,000 feet and is continuing on a return course for Kuala Lumpur.
The nature of the emergency has not yet been confirmed.

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) was originally the intended destination for Flight MH780. Airbus A330-200, registered 9M-MTW, is operating today’s service to Bangkok.
Flight data shows the flight made its departure from Kuala Lumpur at 18:17 local time this afternoon.
The aircraft had climbed to FL400 (40,000 feet) for the northerly service to Bangkok, before declaring the emergency whilst still transiting the Malaysian peninsula.
The flight is now continuing on a return for KUL at the reduced altitude of 10,000 feet.

Flight MH780 is now approaching the Kuala Lumpur region, and positioning for its return. Weather is VFR for the flight’s return, with runway 32 active.

Having initiated a return to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airlines flight MH870 is now passing 4,000 feet on descent for an approach to RWY14 KUL.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH870, originally bound for Bangkok (BKK) has now landed Kuala Lumpur (KUL) after initiating a diversion and return earlier today.
Update: Cabin Depressurization

Flight MH780 experienced a cabin depressurization during the climb. The aircraft subsequently returned to Kuala Lumpur at reduced altitude.
The flight landed at Kuala Lumpur (KUL) safely, without further incident.
