Malaysia Airlines celebrated the upcoming Chinese New Year festive period with a special send-off ceremony for two red-eye, fixed-fare flights. The event was held at Kuala Lumpur KLIA Terminal 1 and was graced by Yang Berhormat Tuan Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia.
The event highlighted the airline’s commitment to providing accessible travel options during the festive season.
These flights form a part of the 102 additional red-eye flights introduced by the airline to facilitate travel demands during the Chinese New Year festive period.

Commencement of Special Flight Services
Minister Loke personally greeted passengers at the boarding gates for flights MH7414 to Tawau and MH7436 to Sandakan, distributing festive goodies to mark the occasion. The warm send-off created a festive atmosphere as travelers prepared to return home for the holidays.
He was accompanied by a distinguished group of officials including Ministry of Transport Secretary General Dato’ Jana Santhiran Muniayan.
Airline representatives included Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Malaysia Airlines Chief Operating Officer Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, and MAG Chief Commercial Officer Dersenish Aresandiran.
Both flights departed on schedule at 11:00pm and 11:30pm respectively.

Connections to Sabah and Sarawak
These special services are part of a broader initiative featuring 102 additional night flights introduced specifically for the festive season.
This expansion brings the weekly total to 219 flights connecting Kuala Lumpur with Sabah and Sarawak, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers during this peak period.
To ensure travel remains accessible to all, the airline has introduced competitive fixed one-way fares starting at RM399 for Sabah routes and RM349 for Sarawak routes, available exclusively through Malaysia Airlines’ official website and mobile app.
