Lufthansa Cargo Adds New China Routes to Shenzhen and Zhengzhou

Lufthansa cargo is tapping the rapidly growing China market with the launch of two new B777F freighter routes to Shenzen and Zhengzhou.

Lufthansa Cargo, has significantly expanded its Asian operations by adding two new destinations to its B777F long-haul fleet routes from Frankfurt.

The company now offers twice-weekly flights to Shenzhen Boa’an International Airport (SZX) and thrice-weekly services to Zhengzhou (CGO). This network addition grows its presence in the rapidly growing Chinese market.

Tapping into China Market Growth

This strategic expansion comes in response to the burgeoning e-commerce sector in China. It seeks to meet increasing demand for efficient air freight services, particularly to European destinations.

By introducing these new routes, Lufthansa Cargo aims to provide its customers with more flexible, fast, and direct shipping options to key Chinese freight hubs.

Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, elaborated on the expansion into Shenzhen and Zhengzhou. “The Chinese e-commerce market continues to exhibit strong growth, with a persistent high demand for European routes.”

Current Chinese Freight Network

With the inclusion of Shenzhen and Zhengzhou, Lufthansa Cargo’s Asian network now encompasses 19 destinations. It will service the network with an impressive 47 weekly frequencies.

This expansion further bolsters the company’s presence in the growing region. It relevantly provides customers with enhanced flexibility and efficiency in their supply chain operations.
