Data Provided by AirNav Radar.

Lufthansa flight LH453, the flight affected by the stuck iPad in Boston, is an Airbus A380 flight between Los Angeles and Munich.

Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was D-AIMC.

As per data from Planespotters.net, D-AIMC is a 15.2 year old Airbus A380 that was delivered to the German carrier back in August 2010.

Of the A380 variant, Lufthansa has eight of them in their fleet.

Moreover, of the eight, all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 13.0 years.

Lufthansa flight LH453, the flight affected by the stuck iPad in Boston, departed Los Angeles at 1724 local time yesterday evening, bound for Munich.

The aircraft was cruising over Canadian airspace, when the aircraft suddenly took a deviation further east in the direction of the American airport.

From there, it was discovered that Boston would be the airport of choice.

After nearly six hours in the air, the aircraft landed safely without further incident.

As per The Aviation Herald, the reason why Lufthansa flight LH453 Los Angeles-Munich, operated by the Airbus A380, diverted was due to an iPad getting stuck in a seat.

There were concerns raised that the battery may have been damaged as a result of being stuck in the seat.

However, it looks like the crew managed to free the iPad when on the ground.

This is because over an hour later, the aircraft was back in the air, continuing to Munich.

It departed Boston at 0356 local time and arrived back into the German airport at 1747 local time.

At this stage, it is unclear how the iPad got stuck in the seat.

This is the second time this month that an Apple iPad has caused havoc.

Earlier this month, a Transavia flight had to make an emergency landing into Porto due to an iPad which belonged to nobody.

As soon as we have more information pertinent to this, we will update you accordingly.
