A Lufthansa Airbus A319-100 departing for London returned to Munich after a cabin door failed to arm properly on 5 November 2024.
Lufthansa flight LH1379, operated by an Airbus A319-100, had made a departure from runway 26R Munich International Airport (MUC). The aircraft was carrying out a scheduled service to London Heathrow Airport (LHR).

During the initial climb after takeoff, flight crew reported a technical problem with one of the aircraft cabin doors.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, the passenger aboard the flight reported that flight crew announced an intended return to Munich. According to the announcement, the aircraft’s rear left-hand cabin door had failed to fully arm correctly.
As a result, the climb was terminated and a direct return to the origin airport was conducted. The aircraft subsequently landed without further incident on a runway 26R Munich Airport, approximately 20 minutes after its initial departure.
The scheduled service to London was cancelled as a result of the aircraft unserviceability.

Flight data shows that flight LH1379 had made an on-time departure out of Munich International Airport at 1728 local time on 5 November.
Following the takeoff, flight crew terminated the climb at 7000 feet before conducting a direct return to the origin airport.
The aircraft conducting the LH1379 service to London was an Airbus A319-100, registered D-AIBL. This is a 20.8 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the national carrier Lufthansa and operated by the subsidiary carrier Lufthansa CityLine.
It has been in operational service with the airline since September 2021. Prior to its present service it was operated by Austrian Airlines from its initial delivery from the factory in March 2004.
