LOT Polish Airlines to Add 3 Embraer E195-E2 Jets

LOT Polish Airlines is set to add three new Embraer E195-E2 jets to its fleet, with the first aircraft now due to arrive in July 2024.

LOT Polish Airlines is expanding its fleet with the addition of three state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 jets leased from Azorra.

This acquisition also highlights a long-standing partnership between the carrier and Embraer.

LOT Polish Airlines was the launch customer for Embraer’s first E-jet in March 2004. The first flight, on 17th March 2004, was completed by an E170 from Poland’s capital to Vienna.

Aligning Growth with Sustainability

The Embraer E195-E2 offers a compelling proposition for LOT. With a remarkable 25% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to previous models, the E2 aligns perfectly with LOT’s dedication to environmentally conscious aviation practices.

This focus on sustainability is crucial in today’s travel landscape, where passengers increasingly prioritize eco-friendly options.

By incorporating the E2, LOT demonstrates a proactive approach to reducing its carbon footprint and contributing to a greener future for air travel.

Seamless Transition from E1

Beyond the environmental benefits, the E195-E2 notably offers a seamless transition for LOT’s existing E1 flight crews. This minimizes disruption and ensures a smooth integration of the new aircraft into operations.

Passengers, on the other hand, can look forward to an unmatched travel experience within the E2’s spacious and comfortable single-class cabin.

The absence of middle seats guarantees ample legroom and personal space, making even short-haul journeys a delight.

The addition of the E2s also brings strategic advantages to LOT’s network strategy. These new jets offer exceptional flexibility, complementing LOT’s existing narrow-body aircraft.

This allows for the introduction of more frequent flights on key routes, effectively enhancing LOT’s network reach and catering to passenger demand for increased connectivity.

Stakeholder Comments

Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, expressed his enthusiasm for the move. “Embracing the future while honoring our pioneering past, we’re excited to welcome these E195-E2 jets to our fleet.”

“This not only strengthens our commitment to sustainable aviation but also celebrates our longstanding partnership with Embraer.”

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, echoed these thoughts. Highlighting LOT’s pioneering role as a launch customer for the E-Jets, Meijer emphasized the significance of their continued partnership.

“LOT is a pioneer airline, the global launch customer for the E-jets. LOT’s first move into the E2 is an important moment for Embraer.”

John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, further reinforced LOT’s position as a leader in the aviation industry.

He acknowledged LOT’s status as one of Europe’s airlines with the youngest fleets and commended the E2’s contributions to fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced passenger comfort.

A Legacy: LOT and Embraer

The addition of the E2s holds special significance due to LOT’s rich history with Embraer. They hold the distinction of being the first airline to operate the E-Jet back in 2004.

At the time, it was a pioneering move that marked the beginning of a successful journey. Today, LOT boasts one of the largest E-Jet fleets in Europe, having flown an impressive 850 million kilometers and carried over 60 million passengers.

These statistics are a testament to the success of the E-Jet program and the enduring partnership between LOT and Embraer.

Looking Ahead

The incorporation of the Embraer E195-E2s marks a significant milestone for LOT Polish Airlines. This move signifies a commitment to sustainable growth, operational flexibility, and an enhanced passenger experience.

By prioritizing eco-friendly practices and exceptional comfort, LOT positions itself as a leader in sustainable aviation and a valued partner of Embraer.

As LOT soars towards the future, passengers can expect an even more enjoyable and environmentally conscious travel experience on board their modern and efficient fleet.
