LEVEL, which was operated under Iberia, has now become it’s own airline, and becomes the latest addition to the IAG family.
This represents the company’s largest milestone since it was created back in 2017.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
LEVEL Becomes It’s Own Airline!
The acquisition of the Air Operator’s Certificate to become it’s own airline was a process LEVEL started in November 2023.
Now that this has been acquired, the standard permits will be carried out to be able to operate flights to:
- Argentina
- Chile
- United States
LEVEL will take the IATA code of “LL”, with the ICAO code being “LVL”.
In this new era also, the airline will receive it’s seventh aircraft in the coming weeks, with #8 coming by 2026.
Rafael Jiménez Hoyos, CEO of LEVEL said the following on this milestone:
“Today is a historic day for LEVEL. Obtaining our Air Operator Certificate is a fundamental step for our airline, which will contribute to undertaking our growth and expansion plan while creating a legacy and know-how for long-haul flights in Barcelona.”
“This milestone marks the beginning of a new stage, in which we will continue working with the same commitment to consolidate LEVEL as an efficient, innovative and customer-oriented airline, connecting Barcelona with the world directly and without stops.”
Services Will Still Be Focused Out of Barcelona…
LEVEL has confirmed that it’s operations out of Barcelona will continue to be bolstered following this news.
Direct connectivity to the likes of New York, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires & Santiago de Chile will continue.
This represents a big step for what is now an airline, and has been reflective of the successes they have had out of Barcelona.
It also further reinforces IAG’s position in Spain, with LEVEL taking Barcelona and Iberia taking Madrid.
All eyes will be on what the future looks like next for this airline.
As well as this, it will be interesting to see where the IAG project goes next in this regard.
