KLM Expands European Network with Three New Destinations

KLM will be flying to three new destinations in Europe starting spring 2025: Ljubljana (LJU), Exeter (EXT) and Biarritz (BIQ).

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is set to enhance its European route network by introducing three new destinations. In spring 2025, the airline will add services to Ljubljana, Slovenia; Exeter, United Kingdom; and Biarritz, France.

These additions will provide travelers with exciting new options for both business and leisure travel. Ljubljana and Exeter will see daily flight services. KLM will fly daily to Biarritz throughout the peak season and scale back to two weekly flights during the off-season.

Amsterdam-Ljubljana Route


Starting March 30, 2025, KLM will launch daily flights connecting Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport. The airline will fly the route will be with an Embraer 190 aircraft, under the following schedule:

  • Flight KL1989: Departs Amsterdam at 10:15 AM, arrives in Ljubljana at 12:05 PM
  • Flight KL1990: Departs Ljubljana at 12:35 PM, arrives in Amsterdam at 2:25 PM

Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital and largest city, offers a compelling destination for travelers. The country boasts a diverse landscape, stunning natural beauty, and a rich cultural heritage that promises memorable experiences for visitors.

Amsterdam-Exeter Route


On the same date, KLM will introduce daily flights between Amsterdam and Exeter using an Embraer 175 aircraft. The route provides convenient access to Southwest England:

  • Flight KL1101: Departs Amsterdam at 4:15 PM, arrives in Exeter at 4:50 PM local time
  • Flight KL1102: Departs Exeter at 5:20 PM, arrives in Amsterdam at 7:50 PM

Exeter serves as a gateway to Devon and Cornwall, situated between Plymouth and Bristol. The region is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, renowned for its dramatic cliffs and unique geological formations.

KLM now serves its 18th destination in the United Kingdom, restoring a direct connection lost after FlyBe’s 2019 bankruptcy.

Amsterdam-Biarritz Seasonal Route


From April 19, 2025, KLM will offer seasonal flights to Biarritz using an Embraer 190. The route will feature daily flights during peak season and twice-weekly service during the off-season.

Peak Season Schedule (April 19 to October 25, 2025 – Saturday and Sunday):

  • Flight KL1485: Departs Amsterdam at 2:20 PM, arrives in Biarritz at 4:20 PM
  • Flight KL1486: Departs Biarritz at 4:50 PM, arrives in Amsterdam at 6:50 PM

Extended Summer Schedule (June 30 to August 22, 2025 – Monday through Friday):

  • Same flight times as peak season schedule
Biarritz city and its famous sand beaches – Miramar and La Grande Plage, Bay of Biscay, Atlantic coast, France

Biarritz, located on the Bay of Biscay in southwestern France, is celebrated as Europe’s surf capital. The French Basque region offers an ideal holiday destination, combining beautiful beaches, lush forests, mountains, charming cities, and traditional Basque villages.

These new routes demonstrate KLM’s commitment to expanding travel opportunities and connecting more destinations across Europe, offering passengers diverse and convenient travel options.
