A KLM Boeing 777-300ER operating a service from Amsterdam to Singapore made a precautionary return to Amsterdam after suffering a hydraulic failure on 29 December 2024.
KLM flight KL835, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER had conducted a departure from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS). The aircraft was performing a scheduled service to Singapore Changi International Airport (SIN).

Following a normal departure, the flight had established on track and was en route when flight crew reported a hydraulic systems failure.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, flight crew advised that they would conduct a precautionary return to Amsterdam. They advised that a time requirement was necessary to permit landing gear and flap extension by an alternate method. A requirement was also placed for towing facilities after the landing.
After a short period to permit fuel dumping, the aircraft was able to land without further incident on runway 27 Amsterdam Schiphol. The return landing was made approximately one and half hours after the flight’s initial departure.

Flight data shows that flight KL835 had made a slightly delayed departure out of Amsterdam on 29 December. Actual time of departure for the service was listed as 2154 local time. The scheduled departure time for the flight rotation was 2055 local time.
Following departure, the aircraft was on climb through flight level FL290 in German airspace when the technical issue was reported. The climb was subsequently terminated and a direct return to the origin airport was initiated.
The aircraft conducting the KL835 service was a Boeing 777-300ER, registered PH-BVS. This is a 7.9 year old wide-body aircraft belonging to the carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in February 2017. The aircraft bears the airline name ‘Nationaal Park Darien’.
