It is understood that the plan is still in place for commercial entry-into-service for the KLM Airbus A321neo from Amsterdam is September 16.

Also, the airline will utilise the aircraft type on the following destinations in their network:

  • Berlin
  • Copenhagen
  • Paris CDG
  • Prague
  • Stockholm Arlanda
  • Vienna

Furthermore, it is understood that the KLM service to Copenhagen from Amsterdam will be the inaugural flight for the Airbus A321neo as it stands.

As it stands, the plan for KLM and it’s Airbus A321neos is that delivery day is expected to take place next month in Amsterdam.

From there, crew familiarisation will take place over the course of two months.

Furthermore, it appears that after that, the inaugural flights will take place in the middle of September.

It is also confirmed that the aircraft will be painted in the new livery that they have donned on some of their other aircraft.

Furthermore, in a statement made back in February, the airline said the following on that new livery:

“The new livery – the aircraft’s exterior paint scheme – is both eye-catching and practical:”

“The dark line separating KLM’s trademark blue and white swoops farther down, rendering the nosedome completely blue.”

“This will ensure that, in the event of an emergency replacement, a new nosedome can be fitted without disrupting the signature blue markings.”

“Another new standout feature is the black outline around the cockpit windows, making them look like sunglasses.”

Adding to this was Marjan Rintel, the CEO of KLM:

“The arrival of the A321neo marks a major upgrade of our European fleet.”

“It is 50% quieter and generates 15% fewer carbon emissions than the aircraft it is replacing, making this an important step towards cleaner, quieter and more fuel-efficient aviation.”

As the inaugural flights are taking place, it is understood that CDB Aviation will send Airbus A321neos to KLM in Amsterdam between September & November.

This is why the extra flights to different destinations have been added.

All Eyes on Delivery Day…

In conclusion, an exciting time comes within the Air France-KLM Group as the next set of Airbus A321neos head enroute to Amsterdam.

Furthermore, sister carrier Transavia took delivery of their first aircraft type around six months ago.

Also, it will be interesting to see how the new aircraft are received by passengers onboard.

But for now, all eyes go to delivery day, which is sooner than you think.
