KlasJet, an Avia Solutions Group charter and ACMI operator, has expanded its fleet with another Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft. This addition increases KlasJet’s ACMI-dedicated jets to a total of seven.
The additional aircraft bolsters KlasJet’s charter service capabilities ahead of what is predicted to be a bust summer peak season.
Boeing 737-800 LG LY-SLX
The new aircraft, registered LY-SLX, boasts a spacious 186-seat configuration and is slated to begin operations in mid-May. According to KlasJet CEO Justinas Bulka, this expansion strengthens their ability to serve customers during the anticipated busy summer season.
“ACMI services are a recent venture for KlasJet, having entered the market in 2023,” Bulka explains. “Despite the brief timeframe, we’ve secured several long-term contracts and strategically grown our fleet.”
“While sourcing suitable aircraft presents a current challenge, we’re committed to reaching a 50-strong fleet within the next five years.”
KlasJet offers two primary services: VIP full-charter flights and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) leasing.
Their current fleet of 14 aircraft caters to both sectors, with capacities ranging from 10 to 68 seats for VIP travel and 186 or 189 seats for ACMI operations.
The ambitious expansion plan aims to reach 50 aircraft within five years, with 40 designated for ACMI services.
As part of the Avia Solutions Group, KlasJet leverages the expertise of the world’s largest ACMI provider.
The group boasts a vast fleet of 212 aircraft and offers a comprehensive suite of aviation services, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling, and various other related services.
KlasJet ACMI and a Busy Summer
ACMI, which stands for Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance, refers to a leasing arrangement within the airline industry.
In an ACMI agreement, KlasJet provides a complete operational package to airlines or tour operators. This includes the aircraft itself, a fully qualified crew, maintenance services to ensure airworthiness, and insurance coverage.
For KlasJet, ACMI remains a key initiative and major revenue stream, particularly as they gear up for a busy summer season. Here’s why:
- Increased Revenue Streams: ACMI allows KlasJet to tap into a wider market beyond just VIP charter flights. This diversification generates additional revenue streams, especially during peak travel periods.
- Flexibility for Airlines: Airlines can utilize ACMI to address temporary capacity shortages or seasonal fluctuations in demand. This flexibility is particularly valuable during the summer months, when travel typically surges. KlasJet’s ACMI services can help airlines meet this surge without the significant investment required to acquire and maintain additional aircraft.
- Scalability: ACMI allows KlasJet to scale its operations efficiently. By adding aircraft specifically for ACMI leasing, they can meet the anticipated summer demand without impacting their existing VIP charter services.
In essence, ACMI equips KlasJet with the tools to capitalize on the busy summer season. They can offer airlines a comprehensive solution to address increased passenger volume, while simultaneously generating additional revenue for KlasJet.
