Air New Zealand has announced the return of its seasonal direct flights to Seoul, South Korea. The airline will resume services between Auckland and Seoul on October 28, 2024, and operate three flights per week through March 29, 2025.
This seasonal route will effectively offer a total of over 130 flights and nearly 40,000 seats during this period.
Seoul is also a crucial route for Air New Zealand’s cargo operations. Last year, the airline transported over 2,000 tonnes of cargo between the two cities, including fresh produce like avocados, blueberries, and lamb.
Seoul: 5 Months and 40,000 Seats
Leanne Geraghty, Air New Zealand’s Chief Customer and Sales Officer, stated, “Korea is a significant market for us, and we’re thrilled to be returning to Seoul. With over 40,000 seats available during the five-month period, there are plenty of opportunities for customers to explore this vibrant city.”
To celebrate the resumption of flights, Air New Zealand is offering special fares for New Zealand customers traveling to Korea. One-way fares start at $699 and are available until September 30, 2024, or while supplies last.
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon expressed his enthusiasm for the increased air travel capacity, stating, “Korea is a valuable inbound tourism and trade market for New Zealand. The resumption of Air New Zealand’s flights will provide more opportunities for connection between the two countries.”
