Jetstar has announced exciting news for Queenslanders: starting December 13th, they’ll be launching direct flights between Brisbane and Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
This marks Jetstar’s 20th route departing from Brisbane, further solidifying their commitment to Queensland’s aviation scene.
787 Dreamliner Direct Flights
This new service will operate three times a week, utilizing Jetstar’s comfortable and spacious Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The direct flights will significantly reduce travel time compared to current indirect routes, taking just over eight hours – that’s nearly half the time!

This new route signifies a major expansion for Jetstar in Brisbane. It’s part of a larger strategic partnership formed with Brisbane Airport in 2023.
This collaboration has already unlocked half a million new low-fare seats annually, with direct flights taking off from Brisbane to popular destinations like Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, and Auckland.
Furthermore, the addition of the Bangkok flights and Jetstar’s existing routes from Sydney and Melbourne will mean bolstered Thailand services.
Overall, the airline will operate up to 22 flights per week between Australia and Thailand by the end of the year.
