On September 11, Jetstar flight JQ941 between Cairns and Melbourne diverted to Sydney due to an electrical problem onboard.
Information has been released pertinent to the incident at hand, which we will get into in this article.

Jetstar JQ941 – Cairns-Melbourne: Sydney Diversion!…
Jetstar flight JQ941, which suffered the electrical problems in Sydney, is a routine scheduled flight between Cairns and Melbourne.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was VH-VWW.
As per data from Planespotters.net, VH-VWW is a 15.3 year old Airbus A321ceo that was delivered to the airline in May 2009.
Of the A321ceo variant, Jetstar Australia has six of them in their fleet.
Moreover, of that six, all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 12.9 years.
As well as the A321ceo, the Australian AOC to the carrier has the following other aircraft in their fleet:
- 51 Airbus A320s.
- 15 Airbus A321neos.
- 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Jetstar flight JQ941, which suffered the electrical problems in Sydney, departed Cairns at 1010 local time on September 11 bound for Melbourne.
Over New South Wales, the aircraft deviated east and proceeded to descend into SYD.
The aircraft landed safely without further incident at 1435 local time.
As per The Aviation Herald, it is understood the specific cause was a problem with the Electric AC BUS 2.
Aircraft Grounded For Five Hours…
Following the electrical problems in Sydney onboard Jetstar JQ941 Cairns-Melbourne, VH-VWW was grounded for around five hours.
Furthermore, data from RadarBox shows that the aircraft then continued on to Melbourne and then flew back to Sydney thereafter.
Also, no further information has been released following the incident.
