A Jet2 flight inbound to Manchester from Rome has declared an emergency in the last few moments.
Jet2 flight LS988, a Boeing 737-800 from Rome, has declared an emergency whilst on descent into Manchester, squawking code 7700.
Flight LS988 squawked the emergency transponder code whilst established on the descent, passing through flight level FL260. The flight has continued the approach to Manchester Airport (MAN). The nature of the emergency is not yet known.

Jet2 flight LS988 is now established on finals, passing through 1,000 feet. Flight crew have maintained the emergency transponder code for a priority approach.
15:50 UTC: Landed Manchester
Having declared an emergency whilst on descent earlier this afternoon, Jet2 flight LS988 has now landed at the destination Manchester Airport (MAN).
The flight had departed from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) at 13:08 local time this afternoon. The flight had then proceeded normally, operating at flight level FL380 for the service to Manchester.
Flight crew declared the emergency whilst passing through FL260, after commencing a normal descent.
The aircraft conducting theLS988 rotation from Rome was a Boeing 737-800, registered G-GDFX. This is a 24.8 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Jet2. The aircraft has been in service with the airline since May 2014.
