IndiGo Boosts Connectivity to Singapore, Kuwait, and Colombo

IndiGo is set to significantly boost international connectivity to Singapore, Kuwait and Colombo from key South and Central Indian hubs on October.

IndiGo, India’s leading airline, is set to significantly boost international connectivity from key South and Central Indian hubs starting October 2024.

The expansion includes exciting new routes and increased flight frequencies, aimed at enhancing travel options for both business and leisure passengers.

New and Enhanced Routes


  • Daily direct flight: Coimbatore to Singapore (commencing Oct 27)
  • Additional frequencies:
    • Chennai to Singapore and Colombo (starting from Oct 15)
    • Mumbai to Kuwait (beginning Oct 29)

These strategic additions are designed to improve connections between major business centers and tourist hotspots in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

The new flights respond to the growing demand for international travel. They offer more convenient options to destinations in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, especially during the upcoming festive season and holiday months.

With these updates, IndiGo’s network now offers:

  • 908 weekly direct flights from Chennai to 48 diverse destinations
  • 141 weekly flights from Coimbatore to 7 carefully selected locations
  • 1292 weekly flights from Mumbai to an extensive 72 destinations

Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, spoke about thelatest expansion. “We’re thrilled to enhance our international network with new and additional flights to Singapore, Colombo, and Kuwait.”

“This expansion means IndiGo now connects 9 Indian cities to Singapore with 72 weekly flights, 4 cities to Colombo with 37 weekly flights, and 5 cities to Kuwait with 34 weekly flights.”

“These routes not only strengthen economic and cultural ties but also open new avenues for trade, tourism, and collaboration. As India’s preferred carrier, we remain committed to providing on-time, affordable, and hassle-free travel experiences across our extensive network.”

Several Indian airlines have cancelled flight services to Bangladesh following the resignation of the nation’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina amid upheaval and violent protests.

Singapore
