Icelandair has announced Nashville, Tennessee, as its newest North American destination. Starting May 16, 2025, Icelandair will offer four weekly flights to the “Music City,” connecting it to European destinations.
With a steadily growing route network, the addition brings the carrier’s portfolio to 18 destinations in North America and 34 in Europe.
Nashville: ‘Music City’
Nashville, a vibrant city renowned for its music, culture, and cuisine, is a must-visit. Known as the “Music City,” it’s a hub for country, pop, rock, gospel, and jazz. Visit RCA Studio B, the “Home of 1,000 Hits,” to see where iconic artists like Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton recorded their hits.
Beyond its musical heritage, Nashville offers a rich tapestry of experiences. Explore the Grand Ole Opry, one of the world’s most famous music venues, or immerse yourself in the city’s thriving arts scene.
Discover the Gulch, a trendy neighborhood with boutique shops, restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. For outdoor enthusiasts, Nashville is a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The area offers hiking, camping, and stunning natural beauty.

Bilateral Partnership with Southwest
Icelandair and Southwest Airlines have partnered to offer seamless travel between North America and Europe. Baltimore (BWI) will be the initial gateway, with more destinations to come.
The partnership between Icelandair and Southwest Airlines will begin in 2025. This will allow passengers to easily connect between the two airlines’ networks. Icelandair will be Southwest’s first partner.
Ryan Green, Southwest Executive Vice President, Commercial Transformation spoke on the new partnership.
