Ibom Air, Nigeria’s leading regional airline, has further bolstered its fleet with the arrival of its second Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
The aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on August 10th before being officially welcomed by the Akwa Ibom State Government. The formal ceremony took place at Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, on August 20th.
This strategic acquisition aligns with Ibom Air’s ambitious growth plans, enabling the airline to increase flight frequencies on existing routes and expand its network to further destinations. The Airbus A220-300 is renowned for its fuel efficiency, environmental sustainability, and unparalleled passenger comfort.

Pastor Imoabasi Jacob, Chairman of Ibom Air, expressed his gratitude to the airline’s management team. He also acknowledged the unwavering support of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. He thanked each party for their instrumental roles in helping to achieve the latest milestone.
“The arrival of our second Airbus A220-300 is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our team,” Pastor Jacob stated.
Governor Umo Eno echoed Pastor Jacob’s sentiments, emphasizing the state’s unwavering commitment to developing its aviation sector.
