Summer 2025 is shaping up to be a banner season for Iberia Airlines, with significant capacity increases across its network, particularly to Latin America and the United States.
Starting March 30th, travelers can look forward to more flight options, enhanced frequencies, and the introduction of new, fuel-efficient aircraft.
Iberia is solidifying its position as a leading carrier, offering unparalleled connectivity and a commitment to passenger comfort.
Latin America: Iberia’s Stronghold
Iberia reigns supreme in the Latin American market, boasting the most extensive network with 18 destinations across 16 countries.
In 2025, the airline will offer a record-breaking 3.2 million seats between the two regions—a 4% increase compared to 2024. This translates to over 300 weekly flights, providing travelers with unprecedented access to this vibrant part of the world.
Several key routes will see significant enhancements. Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo will each gain three additional weekly frequencies.
Buenos Aires will enjoy three daily flights (21 weekly), while Sao Paulo will offer two daily flights (14 weekly). Lima will also see an increase, with twice-daily flights from May onwards.

Iberia will maintain its robust service to other Latin American destinations. Mexico City and Bogota will continue to offer three daily flights, while Montevideo and Quito will retain their daily service.
Santiago de Chile will have 10 weekly frequencies in the early season, increasing to 11 weekly flights from June, mirroring last year’s schedule.
Rio de Janeiro will maintain five weekly frequencies, Caracas will offer between three and five weekly flights depending on the month, and Guayaquil will have three weekly frequencies.
Central America and the Caribbean will also see consistent service, similar to 2024. Daily flights will connect to Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and San Salvador. Panama will offer up to four weekly frequencies, and Havana will maintain three weekly flights.

United States: A Growing Partnership
Iberia’s commitment to the United States remains firm, and the arrival of the new A321XLR aircraft will further strengthen its presence in this key market. The 2025 summer season will see Iberia operate 140 weekly flights between Spain and the U.S., offering a total of 1.1 million seats—a 14% increase from the previous year.
Iberia serves numerous U.S. cities with non-stop flights, including New York (two daily), Chicago (one daily), Miami (two daily), Dallas-Fort Worth (one daily), Los Angeles (one daily), San Francisco (three weekly), Boston (two daily), and Washington (one daily).
Boston and Washington will experience the most significant growth this summer. Boston will double its service from one to two daily flights starting in June. Meanwhile, while Washington will increase its weekly frequencies from four to seven.
Both routes will be operated by the cutting-edge A321XLR, a narrow-body aircraft capable of transatlantic flights, making Iberia the launch airline for this game-changing aircraft.

Tokyo and Doha
Iberia’s global reach extends beyond the Americas. Flights to Tokyo, launched in the winter season, will continue with three weekly frequencies, offering approximately 63,000 seats from April to October. With an impressive occupancy rate exceeding 90% in its initial months, the Tokyo route has proven highly successful.
Service to Doha will also remain consistent, with one daily direct flight from Madrid operated by Iberia, complemented by two additional codeshare flights with Qatar Airways.
This provides travelers with three daily flight options between Madrid and Doha, opening doors to a vast network of connections to Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania.

Europe: Seasonal Boost and Core Market Growth
Within Europe, Iberia will focus on expanding its core markets, particularly France and Italy. Paris will gain four additional weekly frequencies, bringing the total to eleven daily direct flights.
Rome will also see increased service with five extra weekly frequencies, offering six to seven daily flights to coincide with the Jubilee Year in Rome in 2025. Brussels and Vienna will each add two weekly frequencies, reaching up to four daily flights.
Iberia’s summer schedule includes the return of popular seasonal destinations. Ponta Delgada in the Azores, Funchal, and Faro will all resume service with multiple weekly flights.

Flights to Lisbon and Porto will also continue with high frequencies. Tirana, Albania, and Ljubljana, Slovenia, will also see the return of seasonal service.
The Greek islands will once again be a highlight of Iberia’s summer offerings. Direct flights to Santorini, Mykonos, and Corfu will be available from June, with increased frequencies, especially to Corfu in August. Athens will also see increased service.
Croatia remains a popular summer destination, with Dubrovnik, Zagreb, and Split all featured in Iberia’s network. Dubrovnik will see increased flights, while Zagreb and Split will maintain similar service levels to 2024.
In Italy, Catania, Olbia, Cagliari, and Palermo will also operate again this season, matching last year’s capacity.
Overall, Iberia will offer 16 million seats on short and medium-haul routes, maintaining the same capacity as in 2024.
This comprehensive expansion and focus on key markets solidify Iberia’s position as a leading airline, offering travelers a wide range of options for both business and leisure travel.
