Azorra, a leading aircraft lessor, has successfully delivered the first of two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft to Hunnu Air.

This milestone marks the introduction of the E195-E2 in Mongolia and establishes a new partnership between Azorra and Hunnu Air.

The delivery, sourced from Azorra’s firm order with Embraer (NYSE: ERJ), strengthens Hunnu Air’s ability to expand its fleet and reach new destinations across the Asia-Pacific region.

Hunnu Air as Mongolia’s Launch Customer

The Hunnu Air delivery of two E195-E2 aircraft closely follows the recent type approval of the E2 EJets in Mongolia.

The Embraer E195-E2 is a modern, fuel-efficient aircraft designed to lower operating costs while boosting efficiency. The aircraft’s operational characteristics makes it a good fit for the Mongolian aviation sector.

With greater capacity and longer-range capabilities, it also enables Hunnu Air to meet rising travel demand. The aircraft supports the airline’s plans to enhance services to popular destinations like Haikou, Sanya, and Phu Quoc.

It also paves the way for expanded routes to Japan, China, Vietnam, India, South Korea, and scheduled flights to Tashkent.

John Evans, Azorra’s CEO and Founder, expressed excitement about the delivery. “We’re thrilled to bring Mongolia’s first E195-E2 to Hunnu Air,” he said. “This delivery is a game-changer for Hunnu Air’s growth and Mongolia’s aviation future.”

“The E195-E2’s advanced design reduces costs and opens new market opportunities. As demand for these jets grows in Asia-Pacific, we’re proud to support our airline partners with cutting-edge fleet solutions.”

Evans also highlighted Azorra’s strong collaboration with Embraer, which continues to drive innovation in the region.

About Hunnu Air

Since its establishment in 2011, Hunnu Air has emerged as a pivotal player in the Mongolian aviation sector, demonstrating a robust commitment to expand both domestic and international air travel.

With its main hub located at Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar, the airline operates over 15 international routes, utilizing a diverse fleet of jet and turboprop aircraft.

The airline, an E190 operator since 2019, sees the E195-E2 as a natural step forward. Munkhjargal Purevjal, Hunnu Air’s CEO, noted, “The E195-E2 perfectly aligns with our growth strategy.”

“It allows us to increase capacity and expand our network across Asia and beyond. We’re grateful for Azorra and Embraer’s support as we build a stronger future for air travel in Mongolia.”

Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer at Embraer Commercial Aviation, emphasized the aircraft’s benefits. “The E195-E2 brings advanced technology, low noise, and top-tier efficiency to Mongolia,” he said.

“Its unmatched passenger comfort and cost savings make it ideal for airlines like Hunnu Air. We’re excited to support their growth and value our ongoing partnership with Azorra.”

Conclusion

This delivery builds on Azorra’s efforts to expand the E2’s presence in Asia. In April 2024, Azorra delivered the region’s first E2 to Scoot, showcasing the aircraft’s growing popularity.

As demand for fuel-efficient, next-generation aircraft rises, Azorra’s partnership with Hunnu Air underscores the E195-E2’s role in shaping the future of aviation in the Asia-Pacific region.

With its blend of innovation and efficiency, the E195-E2 now positions the airline for long-term success.
