Hamad International Airport (DOH) has continued the impressive growth trajectory it has enjoyed through the first half of the year. The Doha airport has now set a new record for the busiest month in its history.
In July 2024, the airport welcomed a staggering 4.73 million passengers. This represented a 10.2% increase compared to the same period last year. This remarkable achievement solidifies DOH’s position as a leading global aviation hub.
July: Historic Passenger Numbers
Several factors contributed to this surge in passenger numbers. The airport’s airline partners expanded their flight frequencies to meet the increased demand during the summer travel season.
Additionally, Qatar Airways, the national carrier, expanded its network of destinations and introduced seasonal summer operations, further enhancing connectivity.
The airport’s efficiency is also evident in its high load factor, which reached 82.8% in July. This indicates that flights operating out of DOH are operating at near-capacity, maximizing the utilization of available resources.
The previous record for the busiest month was set in January 2024, when the airport served 4.5 million passengers.
Top Destinations
The top destinations in July were London, Bangkok, Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah. This reflects the airport’s strong connectivity to both European and Asian markets. India, the USA, the UK, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE were the top countries in terms of passenger traffic.
DOH continues to expand its operations and enhance its facilities and it is poised to remain a key player in the global aviation industry.
The airport’s commitment to providing exceptional passenger experiences and efficient services has undoubtedly contributed to its success.
