Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Atlantic Canada’s principal full-service airport facility, is set to welcome a major new airline service. JetBlue will begin offering daily summer flights between Halifax and Boston starting June 2025, marking its second Canadian destination.
The new seasonal service will boost travel options between New England and Atlantic Canada across the peak travel season.

The airport, which serves over 4 million passengers annually and operates 24/7, has been steadily expanding its international connections.
Located approximately 35 kilometers from downtown Halifax, Halifax Stanfield is a crucial economic generator for Nova Scotia. It contributes over $3.8 billion annually to the provincial economy through its operations.
The new route promises travelers an efficient connection between these dynamic coastal cities, along with access to JetBlue’s broader network.
Passengers will benefit from the airline’s competitive pricing and highly-rated customer service. The addition of JetBlue service further enhances Halifax Stanfield’s growing portfolio of U.S. carriers, which currently includes United Airlines and American Airlines.

JetBlue Airbus A220 Operations
The service will operate using JetBlue’s modern Airbus A220 aircraft, which seats 140 passengers. These daily flights will serve various travel needs, from quick business trips to extended vacations, making the journey seamless and comfortable.
Halifax Stanfield’s recent terminal upgrades, including enhanced U.S. preclearance facilities and modernized check-in areas, will support the new service’s operations.
David Jehn, vice-president of network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue, expressed his excitement about the forthcoming expansion. “We’re excited to launch nonstop service between Boston and Halifax this summer, a destination known for its vibrant culture and breathtaking coastlines.”
“This new route gives our New England customers the opportunity to explore Halifax and beyond while also introducing our award-winning service and low fares to Halifax travellers looking to visit Boston or connect to the many destinations we serve across the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and more.”

Benefits for Nova Scotia and Atlantic Region
The new service is expected to deliver significant economic benefits to Nova Scotia and the Atlantic Region. Halifax Stanfield’s strategic location and modern facilities make it an ideal gateway for international travelers.
The airport’s cargo facilities handle over 36,000 metric tonnes of cargo annually, supporting substantial trade opportunities between the regions.
Nova Scotia’s Minister of Growth and Development, Colton LeBlanc, highlighted the route’s importance: “Nova Scotia is open for business and increased air access supports our local businesses and tourism sector.”
“Nova Scotia and Boston have a strong connection. Daily summer flights will only strengthen that connection and showcase all Nova Scotia has to offer.”
