The Grenada Tourism Authority has announced the approval of a new WestJet direct flight from Toronto to Grenada.

Starting 15 December 2024, travelers will see weekly direct flights from Toronto to Grenada, thanks to WestJet’s newly approved service.

The flights will run through April 27, 2025, making it easier than ever for Canadians to discover the captivating Spice Island.

This expansion brings exciting opportunities for both new visitors and Grenadian diaspora to connect with the island. The new route demonstrates Grenada’s growing appeal as a premier Caribbean destination and its dedication to expanding international tourism.

Stakeholder Comments

Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, shares her enthusiasm for the service. “The launch of WestJet’s direct Toronto flight opens new doors for Canadian travelers.”

“Now, more visitors can easily experience our island’s rich culture, pristine beaches, and legendary hospitality. We’re excited to welcome WestJet travelers and share authentic Grenadian experiences with them.”

WestJet has revealed this week that 16 of their aircraft were damaged by a hail storm in Calgary, resulting in the cancellation of over 300 flights.

Jeff Hagen, WestJet’s Vice-President of Commercial Development and Strategic Partnerships, added further comment for the airline.

“As the newest carrier linking Toronto and Grenada, WestJet proudly offers Canadians fresh opportunities to explore this stunning island. Through our Toronto hub, travelers nationwide can now conveniently access famous waterfalls and beaches via WestJet flights and vacation packages.”

Bookings are now open for these weekly flights, which offer smooth connections from Western Canada, allowing more travelers to explore Grenada’s heritage, cuisine, and natural wonders.
