UK startup premium carrier Global Airlines has moved a step closer to launch with its latest announcement. The airline has opened a VIP pre-sale for seats on its inaugural flights, scheduled for May 2025.
This unique opportunity lets eager travelers secure priority access to tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
With plans to operate these flights using the iconic Airbus A380, Global Airlines is aiming to redefine transatlantic travel.
Inaugural Launches from Glasgow and Manchester
The inaugural flights will connect two UK cities, Glasgow and Manchester, to New York’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport.

The first flight departs Glasgow (GLA) on May 15, 2025, returning from JFK on May 19. Next, the Manchester (MAN) flight takes off on May 21, returning on May 25. These special flights mark Global Airlines’ debut, showcasing its ambition to bring luxury and innovation to the skies.
Unlike typical startup operations, these flights won’t fly under Global Airlines’ own air operator certificate. Instead, they’ll be operated by Hi Fly, a Portuguese charter airline with A380 experience.
The aircraft, registered as 9H-GLOBL, is currently undergoing maintenance and a cabin refresh. This ensures passengers enjoy a modern, comfortable experience across three classes: economy, business, and first class.

What’s in Store for Passengers?
Global Airlines is pulling out all the stops to make these flights memorable. Expect new onboard menus and limited-edition amenity kits for all travelers.
For those in business and first class, additional perks like complimentary Blacklane chauffeur services are promised, though details are still pending. These touches aim to set the airline apart, blending nostalgia for the A380 with a fresh take on premium travel.
The VIP pre-sale, launched around March 24, 2025, offers a 24-hour exclusive booking window. Travelers can register via the airline’s website to get first access to seats.
Ticket sales will open “in the coming days,” giving pre-sale members a head start. This strategy not only builds buzz but also rewards early supporters of Global Airlines’ vision.

Beyond the Inaugural Flights
These inaugural flights are just the beginning. Global Airlines has its sights set on regular operations from London Gatwick to New York and Los Angeles.
By reviving the Airbus A380, a double-decker jet beloved by passengers but retired by many airlines, the company hopes to carve a niche in a competitive market. The choice of Glasgow and Manchester for its debut flights signals a commitment to serving diverse UK regions, not just the capital.
For aviation enthusiasts and curious travelers alike, this is a rare chance to fly the A380 on a transatlantic route.
The pre-sale reflects Global Airlines’ confidence in its brand, even as it partners with Hi Fly to get off the ground. While the airline still faces hurdles like securing its own operating license, this launch is a bold step forward.
Interested? With tickets about to drop, now’s the time to snag a seat on this historic journey. Global Airlines is betting big on luxury, and May 2025 could well mark the start of something special.
