LONDON – airBaltic has confirmed that it’s Airbus A220 of YL-CSE has slid off Runway 36 at Riga Airport in very snowy conditions.
YL-CSE was operating BT102 from Stockholm to the Latvian capital, on what was up until the excursion, a routine 55-minute flight.

It is understood that none of the 44 passengers were injured and they were safely transported back to the terminal.
YL-CSE will be towed to the airline’s hangar for inspection and to make any necessary repairs on the damage.
The aircraft was delivered to airBaltic brand new back in June 2017, giving it an age of around 4.5 years, according to data from Planespotters.net.
With the test registration of C-FOWV, the aircraft was produced at the Airbus factory in Mirabel.
All eyes will be on the authorities as they will seek to begin preliminary investigations into this incident, particularly if the bad weather caused this excursion or not.
More to follow.
