PR-ZIQ is the Embraer E195-E2 that was present at the Farnborough Air Show 2024.

It is a 6.7 year old airframe that was fully built in November 2017 and is configured with 12 seats in Business and 112 in Economy.

It was known as the Tech Lion, before being given the name Tech Eagle in October 2023.

As you will see from the imagery below, you will see their economy in a 2-2 configuration, and their premium offering also in a 2-2, but the seats are not joined together:

Whilst Embraer didn’t set out any orders at the Farnborough Air Show 2024 for the E195-E2 and other aircraft, they did have a lot to discuss.

Via a press conference on Tuesday, they revealed they are forecasted to reach $10bn in revenue by 2030.

Furthermore, they confirmed that their E2 program will be 100% SAF compatible before 2030.

Since the E-Jets first creation in the 1990s, there have been over 2,200 firm orders for that family.

They believe that between 2024-2043, there will be a demand for 10,500 aircraft in the “up to 150 seats” market.

Improvements on the Way for the E2 Family…

Improvements will be coming to the Embraer E195-E2 & E190-E2 program, which include the following things announced at the Farnborough Air Show:

  • An additional 2.5% saving in fuel burn will be available on the E2 from Q4 2025 – which will be more than the Airbus A220.
  • Cabin optimization – Reducing gaps in the cabin enabled an additional row of seats.
  • The brand new E2TS system – Dubbed the Embraer Enhanced Takeoff System, it will become the first of it’s kind to increase the pitch on departure.
    • Also, it has reduced takeoff distance on short runways already programmed into it.
    • Will reduce pilot workload.
    • It will also offer more range due to less fuel consumption. They used the example of 350 nautical miles of more range from London City.
  • New improved ranges mean the E190-E2 can fly 2,950nm and the E195-E2 3,000nm.

Ultimately, there is a lot of new features to be excited about at the Embraer camp.

In conclusion, the Embraer E195-E2, which was seen at the Farnborough Air Show 2024, and the rest of the E2 family, have the potential to succeed further in the future.

Furthermore, the additional upgrades being made to the aircraft will see further attractiveness in the market.

With there being strong demand for aircraft needed over the next 20 years, the manufacturer will be guaranteed sales.

It is going to be an interesting future, that’s for sure.
